This course is designed to help participants working with someone who is at risk of falling to gain a fuller understanding of the cause, consequences and prevention.

• Falls and fall related injuries are a common and serious problem for older people
• 30% of people over 65 fall at least once a year
• 50% of people over 80 fall at least once a year
• Falls are estimated to cost the NHS more than £2.3 billion per year
